Scott Spinelli gone?

A couple of the daily rags are reporting that assistant coach Scott Spinelli is leaving Nebraska to become an assistant at Wichita St. I wouldn’t be all upset about it but he’s been the one who’s brought in a lot of our “good” recruits. In reality, he was the only thing keeping Barry Collier here at Nebraska. Barry is gone after this year barring a miracle.

Seems like an odd move.  Turgeon just signed a huge extension at Wichita St. while Collier’s hanging by a thread here.  There must be something else to it.  My favorite theory is that Pederson traded Spinelli to the Shockers in exchange for an early release for Turgeon to come here after which Spinelli will take over at Wichita St.  Or it could be that Spinelli took a look at how many NU assistants ever become head coaches and decided to get out after his last class signed their LOI’s.

interesting theory Swoof.

Doesn’t sound so bad, but I don’t think that trigger would be pulled until next year.

Basically what we’re looking at here is a lame duck year by Coach Collier.
